Hope (Korean Movie) - A Must Watcher

Our news papers read “A Five year old Child raped” or “A six month old being raped and thrown”. These headlines just make us feel for the child and thinks about the pain of those kids who face the brutality of rape or molestation.  The judgment for these kinds of brutal animals must be death and not anything more or less than that. But, due to law restrictions this cannot be practical as per the courts of some countries including India and Korea.

Now coming to the movie called “Hope” a Korean thriller drama.

Trailer:

The movie “Hope” is one of the best movies of all time in the history of Korean film industry. This is based on the real incident happened in Korea. This classic was released with no much audience entering movie hall. The movie then caught into box office collections with word of mouth. Lee Joon-ik directed this movie casting Lee Re, SoI Kyung-gu, Uhm Ji-won and others playing equally good characters. To reveal the story it is based on “Child sexual abuse” or called as Rape of a child.
An eight year old girl (Lee Re) just returns from her school ends up getting raped by a drunken man. She fights against it and finally calls the police. Her Parents are informed about this incidence that shocks them. Now, the father (SoI Kyung-gu) has to fight against the media who needs the photo of his child for making the news sensational. In the next scene, father carries his daughter covered in a sheet and takes her to the next room. But, the other shocking factor for the victim’s father is that she is afraid of her own father and starts to ignore him. The girl’s mother (Uhm Ji-won) tries to connect the bonding between father and daughter, but, with no success. He finally connects with her by dressing like her cartoon character Pompompurin. The movie just hits you hard with the emotional scenes making you cry.

Following quite a while of treatment the movie indicts you with legal counselors battling for right judgment to be given. Be that as it may, as Indian law works, the same with the Korean court that gives the sex offender a 12 year jail with high security for the attacker. The upset occurs in the streets of Korea to change the judgment and simply hang that guilty till death. But, the result of it didn't meant to change the judgment from the court. This story is truly occurred in the year 2008 in Korea. The culprit is still in the correctional facility and will be released in four years time.

These types of movies cannot be reviewed and given some points, as it is a perfect one with hard hitting reality shown on screen with characters played realistically.
